Women`s Alpine Ski World Cup in Saint-Moritz, December 2022

Saint-Moritz, the beautiful Swiss ski resort, hosts again the Alpine Ski World Cup. Women races take place on Corviglia slope between 16 and 18 december 2022.

Luxury and elegant Saint-Moritz is one of the best-known ski resorts in the world. It is situated in Graubunden canton, 2 hours by train from Chur(Cuira, Coire), the oldest Swiss town. The village is located at 1822 meters above the sea. It hosted Winter Olympic Games two times. The panoramic train Glacier Express links Saint-Moritz to Zermatt, another amazing Swiss ski resort, located in Valais canton, near Italian border.

Best women athletes perform three days on Corviglia slope.

The first downhill took place on Friday, 16 december 2022. The Italian Elena Curtoni was the big surprise, taking the first place. Sofia Goggia, the Olympic champion, Curtoni`s teammate, arrived the second. The Swiss Olympic champion, Corinne Suter, was the third on the podium.

Saturday was the day for the second downhill. This time Sofia Goggia won after a brilliant race, with a wounded hand and after a surgery in the previous day. Her race was really incredible, especially due to the high risk for her health. The podium included the Slovenian Ilka Stuhec who was the second and the German Kira Weidle, who got the third place.

The SuperG took place on Sunday, the 18th December 2022. This time the American Mikaela Shiffrin won the race while the Italian Elena Curtoni arrived on the second and the French Romane Miradoli claimed the third place.

The next competition will be on in Austrian ski resort Semmering, between 27 and 29 December 2022.
