Thiem and Nadal lost semi-finals in Madrid Open 2019

Austrian Dominic Thiem and Spanish superstar Rafael Nadal lost semi-finals in Madrid Open 2019 tennis tournament. The Austrian won Barcelona`s Open one week ago and was one the favorite at Mutua Madrid Open. Nadal was the biggest favorite, even he was beaten last weeks in Monte-Carlo and Barcelona tournaments.

Thiem played against Serbian Novak Djokovic after a brilliant victory with Swiss Roger Federer. This time, the Austrian could not repeat the great match he managed one day before. He lost in three sets and Novak Djokovic plays in the final.

Rafael Nadal lost again in one of his favorite tournaments, right home. He met the very young Greek player Stefanos Tsitsipas who defeated the German Alexander Zverev one day before. Nadal lost the first set easily, but he won the second one without problems. In the third set, the Spanish didn` find the strenght to beat Tsitsipas. He did some mistakes and unfortunately, he lost the match.

Sunday, 12 May 2019, the Serbian Djokovic will play against the Greek Tsitsipas for the Madrid`s Open trophy.

Next week the best players, ladies and men, will meet in Rome Open tournament.
