Stephan Leyhe wins in Willingen ski jumping event on Saturday 8th February 2020. Leyhe claimed his first victory in the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup.
Willingen is a small locality in central Germany. It helds ski jumping World Cup competition every beginning of the year. The ski jumping hill, called Muehlenkopf, is the largest in the world. The ski jumping arena can host ten thousands fans.
The weather didn`t allowed the second training and the qualification on Friday. Saturday, the meteo was better and the event could take place.
The Polish Kamil Stoch had the best first jump, followed by the German Stephan Leyhe. The Norwegian Marius Lindvik, the Austrian Stefan Kraft and the German Karl Geiger were also in first positions after the first jump.
The local favorite, Stephan Leyhe, had the best jump in the second run and finished the first in this event. Marius Lindvik finished the second and Kamil Stoch had the third place on the podium.
The Austrian Stefan Kraft, the present leader at overall, got the fourth position. However, he kept the first place in the World Cup podium.
The German Karl Geiger finished the fifth and kept the second place at overall podium.
The WiIlingen ski jumping competition will go on on Sunday.
Stephan Leye has become favorite to win tomorrow again.
