Great victory for Kjetil Jansrud who wins today the super-giant in mens alpine ski FIS World Cup Kitzbühel 2020 event!
This weekend the FIS alpine ski World Cup goes on in beautiful Tyrolean ski resort Kitzbühel. This is one of most waited competition in the FIS alpine ski World Cup, besides races in Wengen and Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Hahnekamm mountain helds this amazing competition every January.
The event started today with the super-giant race. The Streifalm slope hosted the event like every year. Lots of ski fans filled the arena.
The Norwegian Kjetil Jansrud had the fastest run and won the super-giant. He defeated his compatriote Aleksander Aadmodt Kilde and the Austrian Matthias Mayer.
Mayer won the alpine combined in Wengen on previous weekend and was one the favorite to win this race. He knows this slope very well like the other Austrian skiers. However, this time he lost the win. Mayer had the same time with Aleksander Kilde and both took the second place.
Kilde and Mayer keep good positions in overall podium with these good results. The French Alexis Pinturault had a modest run and was far from the podium today. The big absent was the Italian Dominik Paris, due to his recent injury.
Kjetil Jansrud is still one the best alpine skier in fast races, but he hasn`t been one of favorites today. In spite of his rather modest results this season, he got a big victory this time.
