Therese Johaug and Sjur Roethe are skiathlon world champions in Seefeld 2019

The Norwegians Therese Johaug and Sjur Roethe are skiathlon world champions 2019. They won the gold medals today, 23 February 2019, in Seefeld, Austria.

Ladies and men skiathlon finals took place today at Nordic Ski World Championships, held in winter sports resort Seefeld in Tirol.

The Norwegian Therese Johaug crossed the finish line the first and became skiathlon world champion 2019. She ended ahead her team mate Oestberg who won the silver medal. The Russian Nepryaeva got the bronze medal.

Men final had a surprise winner. The Norwegian Sjur Roethe won the gold medal and became skiathlon world champion. This was his first world champion medal. The Russian Bolshunov who was the first most of time, finished the second. The Norwegian Sundby won the bronze medal.

Next competitions will be ladies and men teamsprint, tomorrow, 24 February 2019.
