Ilka Stuhec is the downhill world champion 2019

The Slovenian Ilka Stuhec is the downhill world champion 2019, keeping the world title won in St. Moritz, two years ago. Alpine Ski World Championships 2019 has continued today in Åre with ladies downhill. Hopefully, the weather conditions were much better than previous day while men downhill was postponed one hour and the men race took place under bad wind and snowfall.

The Slovenian Ilka Stuhec kept the trophy won two years ago in well-known Swiss ski resort St.Moritz. She had a small advantage beyond the Swiss Corinne Sutter who finished on the second place. The American superstar Lindsey Vonn won the bronze medal. She has announced stopping her ski carreer after these world championships. This was her last downhill.

Officials, skiers and public congratulated Lindsey Vonn for her brilliant alpine ski career.

Tomorrow, 11 February 2019, men skiers will compete in Alpine Combined.

Next race for ladies will be on Tuesday, 12 February 2019, when both ladies and men will compete in Alpine Team Event.
