Dawid Kubacki wins Garmisch-Partenkirchen Four Hills Tournament with an amazing new Olympiaschanze record, a jump of 144m.
The Bavarian Alps ski town Garmisch-Partenkirchen helds the second event of the famous ski jumping Four Hills Tournament on the first day every year. The local Olympiaschanze hill is one of the most known ski jumping hill in the world and one in the most important ski jumping arena in the FIS World Cup.
Qualifications of the edition 2020-2021 took place on 31st December 2020, without public, because of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Slovenian Anze Lanisek won qualifications, followed by the Norwegian Granerud and the local favorite, Markus Eisenbichler.
Today, the Norwegian Halvor Egner Granerud won the 1st round, ahead the Polish jumpers Kubacki, Stoch and Zyla.
The final round was a big fight between Kubacki and Granerud. The Polish wins this event with a spectaculous jump of 144 m. This is the new Olympiaschanze record. Kubacky is followed on the podium by Granerud and the Polish Piotr Zyla.
The tournament will continue on 3rd January 2021, in Tyrolean city Innsbruck, Austria. Qualifications will take place on 2st January 2021.
The Norwegian Granerud keeps the first place on overall FIS Ski Jumping World Cup and in the Four Hills Tournament 2020-2021.
