Clement Noel wins Chamonix slalom in FIS World Cup

Clement Noel wins the Chamonix slalom in FIS World Cup. The most-known French ski resort performs the men alpine ski races every beggining of the year. Kandahar Chamonix ski competitions take place on weekend 8-9 February 2020. La Verte des Houches is the slope name that holds this World Cup event.

Saturday is the slalom day. The first run had a Swiss winner. Daniel Yule was the fastes skier, followed by the French Clement Noel and the Italian Stefano Gross. The Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen, one the main favorites to win this slalom, was disqualified. The French Alexis Pinturault, another main favorites, was the fourth after the first run.

The second run was very waited, both by skiers and ski public. Fans waited for a French win, because many French skiers took place at this event. Two of them, Alexis Pinturault and Clement Noel, are between the best slalom skiers. For Yule and Pinturault, a win was a great chance to win points at general slalom podium.

Unfortunately, Yule and Pinturault could not have a better second run. Both were disqualified. Clement Noel got the first place on the podium after the second run. He proved his big talent again. The Norwegian Timon Haugan arrived the second and the Austrian Adrian Pertl finished the third. Haugan and Pertl had unexpected great runs.

Another Austrian, Michael Matt, arrived the fourth and the Swiss Ramon Zenhaeusern was the fifth.

On Sunday men skiers will perform in parallel giant slalom.
